Technology has changed everyone’s work in all types of industries and companies. When it comes to Marketing, technology has brought great change and it has also brought some bad things with it. I asked six experts in Marketing and they gave me their opinions on the change that technology has made in Marketing.

Hussein El Fakih
Owner of SAW Marketing
"Technological advancements have transformed marketing, allowing the impact of campaigns to be measured in real time, reducing the analysis from weeks to hours. In addition, the democratization of channel has facilitated access to instant information, intensifying competition in the market."

Julian Mercado
VP of Marketing at JM&A
"“The advancements in technology have changed the way we use Marketing, in all types of ways. We are now able to consume Marketing through social media in ways that would have never been imaginable years ago. In addition, we are also able to create interactive content for Marketing purposes with virtual reality. When it comes to Marketing today, technology has involved digital strategies that target users through various channels, using the power of AI, big data, and social media.”

Claudio Urrea Tortolero
General Manager at MGC Global Group
"Technological advancements in marketing offer the benefit of data-driven insights, enabling more precise and personalized strategies. However, the rapid pace of change presents a challenge. While experimentation is essential, the real difficulty lies in assessing whether these innovations align with a brand’s core values and long-term objectives. Without a clear strategy, brands may chase trends, risking alienation of existing audiences and deviation from their identity. The key is to critically evaluate if new technologies are truly beneficial, rather than adopting them out of obligation."

Katherine Moldes
PPC Specialist and Digital Marketing Consultant
“Automation tools have made marketing much more efficient, handling tasks like ad management and data analysis. However, there’s still a need for manual input when it comes to creativity and strategy. While technology can take care of the heavy lifting, human oversight ensures campaigns stay relevant and connect with audiences on a personal level. A hybrid approach that combines automation with manual fine-tuning gives us the best of both worlds: efficiency without losing the personal touch.”

Nathan Pichette
Digital Media Manager at CCA Global Partners
“Marketing has shifted dramatically from the simpler days of print, radio, and TV—where brands held the reins—to a fast-changing landscape dominated by user-controlled channels. In this new era, the challenge is to navigate a space where consumer voices shape brand narratives. Embracing technology means adapting to a world where genuine engagement is essential, and authenticity reigns supreme."

Anthony Miyazaki
Brand Strategist and Marketing Educator: Professor at Florida International University
“Although technology has drastically changed the nature and practice of marketing over the past 25-30 years, the changes that will occur during the next 5-10 years will be even more astounding, particularly in terms of automation, integration, and personalization. The further development of current machine learning technology will allow marketers to better automate processes surrounding audience segmentation, marketing research, marketing communications, product development, and almost every aspect of the supply chain. More marketing automation will lead to a higher degree of artificial intelligence integration into our daily lives -- what some observers casually refer to as the internet of things. With automation and integration, marketers will be able to efficiently personalize persuasive communications and product offerings not only at the individual level, but also with respect to the specific moments that the individual is experiencing.”
Conclusion:
Marketing has become more efficient throughout the years and with technology improving and new things coming out all the time. For example, the release of Chat GPT and other AI websites, have given assistance to marketers, but at the same time we must be careful and not abuse the use AI and make sure to keep our work human. AI is a fantastic tool that is very helpful, but there are always the people that misuse it and ruin it for the people that want to use it for good.
It is important to learn the new technologies and analyze if they would be helpful to us and our company. In the next five years there will be new technology, and then five years later there will be more. The technological industry is not stopping and we have to be able to understand it. Technology has been a great tool for all industries, specifically Marketing. In this day and age, we need to adapt to and utilize the technology to push our work to best of our abilities and every day make our Marketing more efficient.
